it's just another language

Assalamualaikum and g'day everybody.
today i feel blessed because i got to meet my friend from Matriculation, after two years. i had so much fun. *err, did we speak in different languages?* No, of course not. i was just being thankful.
alright, back to our topic for the day. languages. to start things up, how many languages do you speak? 3? 4? do people come around and make fun of the language you mastered?
you see, what i've been facing for the past few years is language freakos. they freak out when they hear something rather unusual and make fun of them. living in Malaysia, a multiracial country, our people speak different languages. the three most common languages is Malay for the Malays, English, Mandarin or Hokkien for the Chinese and Tamil for the Indians. however, there are just some people who can't seem to accept the fact that people speak in different languages than them, so they make fun of the others. for example, one might describe some dude speaking in Mandarin or Hokkien as 'ching chong chong chien' and the Indians as 'arogura arogura arorogaa'
i'm sorry if i offended some of you, i didn't mean to make you upset and angry. but that's pretty much the truth. from what i've seen and heard after all these years, i came to a conclusion. people who are closed minds are the ones who will make fun of other languages just because they do not appreciate the beauty in each language. and i think languages are art, the fact that it's different from the language we used to speak is a challenge for us. i accept any language one speaks, and i do not make fun of them. *emm, maybe i do make fun of the way Koreans pronounce certain words. sometimes, i think they'd need to spit out phlegm every time they say certain words*
truthfully, i think people who are so caught up in the rivals between two different languages are the ones who have a lot to lose. sometimes, movies and dramas produced by people 'different' than us, who speak different languages are better, they offer so much values about life, allowing us to open our very little mind to see what the world is really like. i honestly love to watch movies from a different language as long as there's subtitles provided. so far, i've watched Malay, English, Chinese, Siamese, Hindi and Tamil movies. and i enjoy watching them. i may not be able to understand most of what they're saying, but as i read the subtitles, i am already into the movies itself, without giving too much attention on the language boundaries that is there.
