surrender dorothy

i watched this movie 'surrender, Dorothy' for Mother's Day. Watched this movie with mum...
so this story is actually about a mother, Natalie and her daughter, Sara. Sara is in her 30's, has a PhD in Japanese Language. She also has a boyfriend, Adam. every morning, Sara's mum will call her & the first thing they say would be, 'Surrender, Dorothy' instead of 'Hello' & 'Hi'. Surrender Dorothy is actually a line from the Wizard Of Oz. Sara enjoyed watching this movie when she was little & so, Surrender Dorothy is their secret tagline.

Alexa Davalos as Sara
Sara, Adam & a couple of their friends always enjoy one whole month with themselves. They rented a small house & they drank beer & chat the whole night. Sara & Adam thought of having ice-cream that night, so the both of them got themselves ice-cream. On the way back, Sara drove insanely while she talked & laughed her way with Adam. Watching the way she drove had me holding my breath the whole time..OMG! so, then at an intersection, another car came & crashed their car...Sara died instantly but Adam survived with several bruises.

Tom Everett Scott as Adam
Natalie claims that she knows everything about her daughter, but she was so wrong! She lived with Sara's friends so that Sara will be fresh in her memories...& she kept on digging about Sara with all of her friends. She brought up on Sara's personal life, her private life & stuff like that. She had been searching for Sara's diary all along when the diary was with Adam the whole time. finally, Adam gave the diary to Natalie & she was so happy the moment she realized it was Sara's diary on her bed. She opened it but it was written in Japanese. I wonder why? hahaha...obviously Sara didn't want her mother to be reading her diary! But Natalie didn't realized that. She was determined to know what was written in Sara's diary.
Lauren German also acted in this movie.
she acted in 'Mamma Mia', 'Mean Girls'
& 'Red Riding Hood'

Luckily, Adam's producer asked her out for lunch & they went to a Japanese restaurant. The chef read one of the pages where Sara claims that her mother is like pain in the a** & that she felt the only way she can be independent is if her mother could let her be on her own. She also wished her mother actually died. that kindda hurts, but also an eye opening thing for Natalie. She finally realized that she had been to pushy towards Sara, her only daughter. She gave each of Sara's friends something that belongs to Sara. Adam got Sara's diary! hahaha.. =)

Natalie left & continued her daily life as a travelling agent in the town, living every moment thinking & cherishing all the moments she shared with Sara.
