Kelantan-in my own words

i've actually been planning to write on this matter a long time ago, back since i was in 1st year. but i guess i never had the time, so i would make a short version of it.
as you all might know, i am studying in Kelantan, a state on the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia.
most of Malaysians who have never stepped foot in Kelantan would say stuff about how poorly developed state it is. but being here for more than a year now, i have my own opinions about Kelantan.

1- the #1 thing associated with Kelantan is Tok Guru Nik Aziz. he's the Chief Minister of Kelantan. he is a very old, religious man living in modesty. i've never met this guy in person, but from many stories i've heard about him, he's a kind man.
2- Kelantan is closely associated with pregnant women. the average number of siblings in Kelantan is at least 5 or 6 and this number can even reach to 11-13 siblings per family. i don't know why is this number of kids per family is relatively high in people from Kelantan, it's just a normal thing to have lots of kids.
you can be in any part of Kelantan and the first thing you notice about the woman is that she's pregnant. be it the shopping mall, grocery store, hospitals or even by-standers.
3- Kelantan is a developing state in my opinion, with many buildings being built here and there, and the traffic jam is massive, you'd feel like killing someone in the car just waiting for the car to move even 100 meters.
4- water supply is not that good here, it is brownish in colour and it would leave stains on white clothes if you're not careful. but after asking around, it seems like people living in housing areas would get purified water, if you have a water purifier outside the house. living in hostels, you have to pay. haha..
5- there's no cinemas in Kelantan. it's just too bad. there's plenty of places to go and shop around Kelantan, but sooner or later you'd find yourself going to these places every once in a while because you've run out of places to go. there's actually a lot of places to visit, tourist attraction, but these places are so far away from where i'm at. so i prefer not to discover.
6- i'm not a fan of cars but i know when i see an expensive imported car. and trust me, Kelantanese ride in these cars. they own them. no idea where the hell did they find money to own them, but they do.
not so developed country you say? think again.
