battle of the bands

tonight, just like other crazy nights i have, i'm going to babble about two bands-i love equally. i bet you people already know who am i gonna talk about tonight. for your information, i'm feeling a little high right now, i haven't been getting a pretty nice sleep lately.
and the battle is between The Cab VS Panic! At The Disco.

Panic! At The Disco didn't get much coverage in Malaysia. the only song that's been played on live radio was I Write Sins Not Tragedies, Nine In The Afternoon...that's all i guess. i don't remember those guys coming down to Malaysia. okay, they did come to Malaysia, but that was a long time ago, back then in 2008. The Cab, on the other NEVER stepped foot in Malaysia.

the thing is that, i've never heard of The Cab until Mr Crawford crept his way into my heart, i started Googling here and there and found his previous band-The Cab. i downloaded some of their tracks and they're not bad.

comparing these two bands in terms of performances, i would prefer Panic! At The Disco, coz there's so much drama in each concert. they like to play songs from old school, give the songs a new life, which is cool! plus, Brendon is awesome on the piano. and his vocals is undeniable. The Cab is okay in live performances, they also play new tracks like Boyfriend by Justin Bieber & We Found Love by Rihanna. just that they don't fool around as much as Panic does.

next, in terms of music videos, i also vote for Panic! At The Disco. they're videos are so outta the world. a little dancing, over the top wardrobe and funny concepts. watch Ready To Go (get Me Out Of My Mind), the director used the concept of Singing In The Rain in a whole new perspective. The Cab videos are funny, but cannot top Panic!

finally, we move on to the lyrics. in terms of lyrics, i prefer The Cab's lyrics coz most of them make sense to me. songs like Bad, That 70's Song, I'm A Wonder and many others seem to have a story line. Panic! on the other hand have this crazy, wild imagination, not much of a story. most of their songs have deeper meaning, you need to listen and connect those songs with the band's lives before you'd finally understand the whole concept of the songs. Hurricane is about how people underestimate their band and yet he teased them by saying 'They'd never look like me' & 'They'd never sound like me'. Let's Kill Tonight is more of a comeback song. Sarah Smiles is about Brendon's girlfriend.

so, it's a SPLIT! haha...
