Beauty & the Beast

Beauty & the Beast is one of the movies  watched during the CNY holidays at home. something about this Disney movie make me wanna watch it over and over again. no doubt, this is my most favourite movies when we had Disney Channel back then. 

the best part of all is the dancing, music & the transformation of Beast to a handsome Prince. *woot woot*

but then, watching this movie again made me think about the impact of the movie to young kids who watch the movie. not sure if you guys realize them but let me reveal them to you...

first of all, is the Bimbettes. if you guys do not who who are the Bimbettes, these 3 young ladies on the left are the Bimbettes. they are called so because of their character in the movie. they look forward to Guston walking by in front of them in the streets & they go crazy over him.

the thing i wanna highlight here is the dressing of these Bimbettes. they wear low-cut dresses which may give bad influence to kids. they might have the negative thinking that sexy means wearing low-cut dresses or it's totally okay to wear dresses like that to attract guys attention. well, why do you think kids learn a lot than they should at young age? maybe these kindda Disney movies play a tiny-little bit part of them.

and then, we have this scene whereby Belle turned down Gaston's proposal. Gaston was pretty furious and he went to the tavern for some drinks. and there's a song in the tavern about the beast. you recall any of these?

well, my whole point is that kids will get the idea that consuming alcohol is okay, coz none of the people in the tavern look like they were drunked. 

little things like this gives kids the wrong idea about life. honestly, i will not allow my kids to watch any of these movies. reading the book 'Beauty & the Beast' should do the trick. hehehe... and also this part, where Gaston became extra strong after consuming a few drinks. kids may also get the idea that alcohols make them stronger like Superman or so. if not, they might think that consuming alcohol can attract people's attention as most people in the tavern followed to what Gaston was saying & even the Bimbettes fell for him.

so, i hope i sent my message clearly. please take note on the movies you let your little ones watch. some movies are not suitable for little kiddos. but the sad thing is that MOST of the movies made by even Malaysians are not suitable for kiddos to watch. sadly enough, these people never get the idea. all the want is high ratings, good comments & awards!!

beware of what you let little people to watch..
